Our Lesson Program

At Spring Creek Stables we provide lessons on our lesson horses or on your own horse. Our knowledgeable lesson instructors make sure that each student builds a solid, educated foundation from the ground up. It is important that our students learn the proper and safe way to lead, tie, groom and know the all around ground work that is required when handling horses. We incorporate the ground work and grooming in each of our riding lessons. It is important to us that we go at the pace of the student and meet each of their needs while learning to ride. Confidence is the key to success while on the ground and while riding.  Lesson types include beginners to advanced, western, english, barrel racing, and therapy.

Lessons are offered during the day and after school/evening time on weekdays, and daytime on weekends.  We teach riders of all ages and no previous experience is required.  Most riders take one lesson a week, with riders interested in competing riding more than once a week. Horses and all additional equipment are provided by the stable; riders need to wear long pants and closed toed shoes.  Sturdy tennis shoes are okay for the first lesson, boots are highly recommended if a rider continues with lessons.  Helmets are recommended for all riders and  required for riders under the age of 18 and anyone jumping.  The stable has helmets available to borrow for lessons and try for fit and comfort.  Riders continuing in lessons are encouraged to purchase their own helmets.

If you are ready to schedule, please send us an email and include the prospective student's age (for kids), experience level, preferred riding style (if known) and days and times of best availability.  This will help us pair you with an instructor with similar availability.  Please also include the best number to contact you and preference of a call or text.  Please keep in mind that an instructor may contact you back directly and may be calling from an out of state number.
