Summer Horse Camp 2021

(Dates Coming Soon)

About Our Camp:

Our goal is to provide your child with the opportunity to learn how to properly care for horses in all aspects. We teach them the skills they need to safely handle their horses on the ground and under saddle. Kids will learn from the ground up all of the basic riding skills they need to feel confident and comfortable on a horse. Our students that already know the basics will get to expand their knowledge of riding, by moving on to more advanced skills under saddle.  Along with ground work and riding, the kids will also learn all about veterinary care, farrier work and feeding that is crucial to keeping a horse healthy.  Basic principles of animal husbandry will be taught as well, including grooming, bathing, cleaning, and barn maintenance.

Our horse games are always a blast to play and help campers remember all of the great information they are learning about horses. The kids will also get to learn about different riding disciplines and what it takes to prepare a horse for competition. Arts and crafts are always a big hit, and kids will get the chance to make a horse related keepsake to take home at the end of the week.

Camp sessions run Monday to Thursday, from 9am to 2pm. Kids will need to bring a sack lunch and a bottle of water that can be refilled. Helmets are available for use or students may bring their own. Helmets must be specifically for horseback riding and ASTM/SEI certified, if self provided. They must wear long pants and closed toe shoes or boots. Please send your child with a hat, sunscreen, and appropriate clothing for being out in the heat and sunshine. On Wednesdays, kids will need clothes and shoes that can get wet for bath day!!

Cost of camp is TBD per week. A deposit of TBD is due at registration time to secure your space, with the balance due on the first day of camp.

Our camp is taught by caring and experienced instructors, including a PATH certified therapeutic instructor. Camp is open to students of all abilities and those needing accommodations. Please don’t hesitate to call with inquiries regarding any accommodations your child might need. We are happy to help and eager to make horseback riding camp inclusive for all!!

Therapeutic Horse Camp: Our first week of camp is dedicated to students with disabilities and those with access and functional needs. The hours are 9am to 12:30pm and the cost is TBD. A deposit of TBD is due at registration time to secure your space, with the balance due on the first day of camp.  Please give us a call if you feel that this camp is appropriate for your child and we’ll be more than happy to ensure that we can meet any needs you may have.
